Software Engineer

Hi, I'm Kevin Dilts.

Full-stack engineer who enjoys building clean UIs, reliable APIs, and practical tools. I like working with TypeScript, Elixir, Java, Postgres, and GCP.

Current focus

Portfolio

Building a cohesive portfolio with real features. Starting with a national parks tracker, and more on the way.

Strengths

Full-stack delivery

My work spans the entire stack, from creating intuitive interfaces to designing fast backend services and managing the infrastructure that supports them.

Looking for

Backend / full-stack roles

Remote-friendly engineering teams that care about code quality and reliability.

Location

Albuquerque, NM

Open to remote roles across US time zones.

Featured work

Projects that represent how I build

Portfolio projects that reflect how I approach UX, APIs, and infrastructure.

Portfolio Platform

Full-stack • In-progress

Next.js · TypeScript · Tailwind · Spring Boot · GCP Cloud Run

A cohesive platform that brings my projects together and shows how I structure UI, API, and deployment layers into a single, maintainable system.

National Parks Explorer

Front-end / Maps

Next.js · Maps API · Firestore

A map-based tool to browse national parks and track which ones you've visited. Built to highlight UX, data modeling, and integration with real APIs.

About

Where I've been and what I'm aiming for

I've spent the last several years building and maintaining full-stack systems: front-end work in Phoenix LiveView, React, and Angular; back-end services in Elixir; and deployments on modern cloud platforms like GCP.

This portfolio uses those skills in self-directed projects with production-style infrastructure and a few playful tools that show how I approach problem-solving and UX.

I'm currently looking for backend or full-stack roles where I can contribute to durable systems, collaborate with a thoughtful team, and keep growing my skills.

Recent highlights

  • • Building this portfolio as a production-style system on GCP.
  • • Deepening experience with Java / Spring Boot and CI/CD pipelines.
  • • Exploring maps, AI tools, and creative UI patterns.
